Hello World, NMEA Protocol!

Hello World! I said yesterday when the coordinates started to appear on the console of a NMEA protocol* parser. Thanks to my beloved friend Andoni, now I have a Holux GPSlim 236* connected via bluetooth to my laptop. So the next step is to learn how to parse all the incoming data to serial object in Max MSP. As far as I have been reading it might be possible that I will need Processing to work out this thing. Let's hope not.

Anyway, I'm coming back from the south with a handy small GPS that will control my walking compositions. The time frame is to have a patch working on my buffers by the end of the next week. So, very soon I will post the results of this pervasive thing.

On the dissertation I have had a bit of time to think about it and I do have a clear plan, now the problem is to find proper bibliography to support my idea. Basically I intend to write a Toolkit for non musician-musicians or something like that. My plan is to explore the upcoming tendence of having artist working on sound without musical background. And the branches, processes and dynamics that arose when you work on sound from a visual perspective.

I'm really curious about this sound stuff from a visual perspective you've been talking about! Sounds intriguing!!!
